A Light in the Dark does this several times in fact. All accompanied by a stark 50+% of all dialogue options jamming the motif of poverty and unfair birthrights down your throat, from beginning till end, bouncing around the plot because there's nothing else to talk about. Several points in the true ending had me questioning if there were possibly any more ways they could say the same thing again.Dialogue options given are only ever difficult either because the game gives you approximately the time to read the prompts plus 0.25 seconds to chose an option, or (classic RPG style) the option you select wildly veers off in a direction the game hadn't suggested by the three word prompt. One choice will result in a kick to the stomach while the other apparently makes them like you more (even if they were practically the same response). Good luck figuring out the "good ending" sequence of specific items to look at and dialogue options to say without looking up a guide. What's that? I have only three selections I can do left and there are 20 things I can select from but only four give me brownie points and all the rest are traps? COOL. A notebook that doesn't help most of the time. Several visual and text bugs (why are there random numbers and codes instead of dialogue sometimes?). Beautiful Music. Sekai Project top quality artwork.Play it if you like anime VNs that are short and are fine slogging through the bull to see an impoverished anime girl (who somehow manages to maintain red highlights) physically abuse you and then maybe feel sad for her later.. This is the first VN I have officially played through and I enjoyed every bit of it. I've always loved multiple endings and wanted to see each outcome during my gameplay. The music was amazing to listen to and highlighted the emotions in the scene very clearly. The character art is superb and very unique compared to other VNs I have seen, and the two girls' personalities (especially the older one) gave me a whole new perspective on their struggles in the world they live in. As the unfortunate ones in the game say:"The world isn't fair."Watch out, Stockholm Syndrome will punch you in the face (literally).. This game is so Awesomemake this Question my life11/10' 3 '. World is not fair. A Light in the Dark is a bleak story of the social inequalities in the world that really has no completely happy ending, and I truly appreciate how unflinchingly it portrays this. It's not saying anything that hasn't been said before, but that doesn't make its message any less pertinent. It doesn't have the answers, because there aren't easy answers. The world is complicated and life is cruel, and to try to paint it any other way would be a disservice to everyone in a similar position as the girls in this visual novel.The main mechanic of choosing dialogue options and actions while on a strict timer really helps instill the tension of your character's situation as the victim of a kidnapping, and it's up to your choices and your investigating to find out the answers to what has happened to you and how to get out alive. Couple that with some absolutely wonderful art and a few endings to get you coming back again and again, and this is a quality experience with an important message. In some spots the English translation is a bit messy, but this can easily be ignored and most likely will be patched in future updates.
