One of the most underrated platformers on the Steam platform. If you have not done it yet, try the demo for yourself. It has Zen like feel to it.. A fun puzzle platformer, it reminds me of Trine but with only one character.. I beat this game... and have almost no recollection of it. I don't recall disliking it per se, but my almost complete lack of memory of it is not a good sign. There's just SO MANY INDIE PLATFORMERS out there. I'm tired of them. I have almost no interest in platformers anymore.. Fun but tedious game that has an arcade feel to it. I love the Greecian theme and the story itself but found it a bit difficult to keep going back to and finihshing. I'm a bit on the fence because it was good and fun but nothing wow worthy.. NyxQuest is a graceful little platformer with exceptionally tight control, a unique and detailed aesthetic, and a wondrous little score that not only surprised me, it delighted me almost the entire way through. The platforming with flying and floating controls combined with using the mouse to move various objects in the environment just feels fantastic. The level designs and puzzles are cleverly built around all the skills at your disposal, and the game's pacing is such that it builds upon previous challenges while it doles out new mechanics and powers for you to play around with very quickly. The only real sticking point is the stage entitled "Field of Argos" which may drive you up the wall in frustration with its somewhat unfair randomness, but perseverence and quick reflexes should see you through with enough practice. For the quality of game you're getting here and the price point, you absolutely can't go wrong with NyxQuest.. I love it so far. Standout feature is the mechanics. It's a side scroller with the normal jump mechanic, but you get limited flight in the form of 4 double jumps. You can also glide for horizontal range in addition to vertical jumps. Soon after starting, you get the ability to move certain objects around with the mouse; this is both a means of navigation and, depending on the situation, your weapon. The graphics are smooth and pretty; in 2010 we had just come out of the Beige Age, so game makers were putting color into their games again. All in all, very much recommended.
